The Body Workshop proposed that the girls of City of Portsmouth Girls School produce 2-D art work related to the human body by exploring body reflexes using a human body and a skeleton.
Objectives:
To use a series of short poses covering a range of movements to shoe anatomically weight distribution, muscle usage, tention, flow etc. To use a long pose to enable the student to use the framework of the body and creatively find ways of showing their knowledge of the body reflexes, e.g. by producing sketches of the skeleton to show the arrangement of bones, by using reference material to sohw how muscles connect and move the body, by showing the possibiliy of involving resonpes produced from nerve centres to stimulate from without, or any other related ideas students might discover through research prior to the workshop.
